VPS-Forge Scheduled Security Updates

Hello VPS-Forgers,

This is an announcement to inform you that over the next few days we will be updating (again) the security of the nodes. This should not directly affect your virtual servers with us in any way.
However if you start to find services or requests outbound/inbound being blocked then please open a support ticket using the "security" department and we will get right on it.

As previously said we are not expecting this to affect your containers, but as we all know, anything could happen :)

VPS-Forge Scheduled Security Updates

Hello VPS-Forgers,

Over the up and coming weeks some security work on the nodes will take place.
At this present time no dates and times will be specified as these are being arranged still, but this is just a pre-warning to let you know this is taking place.

The downtime will be short (if any). We are just enabling some security features on the node, and also changing some configuration.

You will recieve more information about this in due course.

Regards,
VPS-Forge Security Team

Scheduled downtime Saturday 11/06/11 12:00pm GMT

This is to inform users of DEvz03 that they should be aware that on Saturday 11th June from 12:00pm GMT, your vpses will be unavailable.
We expect the downtime will be short (Under 10 minutes) as it only requires a reboot.

As you may have noticed the network speed on your node has been rather slow, we have contacted Hetzner and have concluded that a faulty network driver is the cause, which requires a reboot after it is updated.

We apologize in advance for this short downtime.

DEvz03 Downtime

Users of DEvz03 will be aware that there was recently a DDoS attack against this node. That attack has been dealt with and should no longer pose any threat to the node. We also took DEvz03 down today to perform some file-system repairs. All of that work is now complete and DEvz03 is back online and performing as normal.

To keep up to date with any news/updates you can follows on twitter @VPSForge, or you can join us on IRC irc.vps-forge.com, or you can of course follow this blog.

To check the status of the network you can of course click the 'Network Status' link on the navigational bar or if you are lazy then... Network Status

New OpenVZ node and gigabit upgrade

We'll be opening a new OpenVZ node shortly (probably May 5th). This node will also be in one of the Hetzner Online datacenters in Germany.

We've also started to offer a gigabit upgrade for those that want it. The upgrade will give you double the current traffic you are allocated and access to a gigabit connection. This upgrade will cost $15 extra per month. Extra traffic costs $1/100GB.
